The demonstration flight took place as
part of the flight program of the dubai
air show 2021 international air show, according to the russian helicopters
holding part of rostec. The guests and participants of the air
show were shown the complex aerobatics
of a combat helicopter with unique
maneuverability.
The Mi-28 helicopter is capable of
performing some aerobatics available
only to airplanes. Many of them were performed at minimum
altitudes and speeds. The ability to do
this is important for increasing the
survivability of an attack helicopter in
real combat. The car was piloted by test pilot Sergey Barkov.
The Mi-28 ne made combat turns
dives slides flight with its tail
forward hovering as well as climb with
rotation. Stability in the air and obedience and
control were demonstrated. The main task
of the Mi-28 helicopter is to destroy
enemy tanks and manpower.
They are also capable of working on
ground targets conducting reconnaissance
and patrolling the area. Unlike american helicopters the apache Mi 28 has a serious flight deck
reservation and redundancy of some of
the most important systems. The possibility of flight on one engine
is provided with automatic putting it on
emergency mode in case of failure or
defeat of the second one.
The cockpit armor can withstand a direct
hit, armor-piercing bullets of 12.7
millimeters caliber, high explosive
fragmentation shells of 20 millimeters
caliber and fragments of guided missiles.
In october 2015 the Mi-28s were deployed
to syria, where as part of an air group
of the russian air force they strike at
the positions of terrorists. Also the Mi-28s were widely used by the
iraqi air force and played an important
role in the campaigns to liberate cities
in particular fallujah ramadi and other
operations.
