Various obstacles in developing the KF-21 Boramae fighter jet have been
successfully overcome by Indonesia and South Korea.
Previously, it was known that in the development of the KF-21 Boramae
fighter jet, Indonesia was in arrears. This arrears is even said to have
made many Indonesian engineers who took part in the development of the KF-21
Boramae "go home".
With the swift agility of the Indonesian government to deal with it, in the
end the problems related to the KF-21 Boramae could be solved.
Based on a report from The Korea Herald, in November last year it was found
that Indonesia and South Korea agreed on the latest agreement on the
financing of the KF-21 Boramae.
Basically, Indonesia still pays 20 percent of the KF-21 Boramae joint money.
And South Korea still has to fund the development costs of the KF-21 Boramae
as much as 80 percent.
However, in this latest agreement, Indonesia has received many facilities
related to the financing of the KF-21 Boramae. First, Indonesia was given
relief in paying the cost of the KF-21 Boramae, namely in installments.
The installments that Indonesia can pay in financing the KF-21 Boramae can
even be paid for up to five years.
Second, in addition to being able to pay in installments, it turns out that
Indonesia can also pay for the financing of KF-21 Boramae using tradeoffs.
Where the portion of the trade off of the total costs charged to Indonesia
is 30 percent.
With the various facilities that Indonesia gets, it clearly shows that
Jakarta is very important in the development of the KF-21 Boramae. The
agreement between Indonesia and South Korea has received satisfaction from
both parties.
SBS News reports that DAPA Commissioner Eun-Ho Kang is very satisfied with
the outcome of the renegotiation of the financing for the KF-21 Boramae.
"When the renegotiation of the Korea-Indonesia KF-21 development
contribution was reached on the 11th of last month (November 2021),
Commissioner Kang Eun-ho said, 'I am 120% satisfied'," quoted from SBS News.
With the contribution of trade balance in the financing of KF-21 Boramae,
the palm oil commodity is also mentioned. Where is a temporary assumption
that palm oil is said to be one of the commodities for bartering KF-21
Boramae.
"Palm oil as raw material for cooking oil is mainly used for frying snacks
such as prawn crackers.
This raises the question of how to bring 480 billion won of palm oil to
Korea and digest it," wrote Hankook Ilbo on November 23, 2021 ago.
"Moreover, palm oil is not a 'healthy oil' because it contains a lot of
saturated fatty acids.
There is an opinion that it is better to import bananas from Indonesia," he
added.
Because there are many rumors about palm oil that raise a lot of public
questions, DAPA officials speak up. It is said that if the palm oil that
enters South Korea can be sold again to other countries.
"As if aware of this, an official from DAPA emphasized, 'There is a way to
sell palm oil abroad through a domestic trading company rather than
receiving it in the market'," he explained.
