'Made in America' Loan Cap Doubled Under New Trump-Backed Manufacturing Plan |
A joint effort between the Trump administration, the Senate DOGE Caucus chairwoman, and the House’s top small-business official aims to strengthen U.S. manufacturing by increasing the loan cap available to small businesses.
During President Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office, manufacturing loans have surged by 74%, according to backers of the Made in America Manufacturing Finance Act, who spoke to Fox News Digital.
Supporters of the legislation say raising the loan limit from $5 million to $10 million for 7(a) and 504 loan programs will help small manufacturing businesses—often overlooked by big banks—grow their workforce and enhance their production.
House Small Business Committee Chair Roger Williams, R-Texas, told Fox News Digital that he, Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, and SBA Administrator Kelly Loeffler are united in pushing the bill forward.
"We support America’s small businesses, which make up nearly 99% of all U.S. manufacturers," Williams said.
"The Made in America Manufacturing Finance Act gives small business owners the capital needed to grow, modernize, and stay competitive. We must continue to support and strengthen the job creators that sustain our communities."
Loeffler referenced “Liberation Day”—Trump’s name for April 2, the day most tariffs took effect—and said the new legislation builds on that moment to help U.S. manufacturers grow stronger.
"On Liberation Day, President Trump made a bold commitment to bring back American jobs and supply chains — and today, we’re making that promise a reality," Loeffler said.
"The Made in America Manufacturing Finance Act will double SBA loan limits for small manufacturers, accelerating the resurgence of American industry by equipping them with the capital to expand and compete."
She also described small businesses as the "foundation of American power" and emphasized the importance of products labeled "Made in America."
Williams said this collaboration among the executive branch and Congress shows how different parts of government can work together well beyond Trump’s first 100 days.
"Together, we will keep advancing the America First Agenda and build an economy that puts Main Street at the center of success," he said.
