The country's defense
ministry said on thursday, the drills come as neighboring ukraine
held joint military exercises with the
us. Russia's black sea fleet practiced
detecting and destroying sea targets
with the mobile anti-ship and
surface-to-surface rockets.
According to
a statement from the defense ministry in
moscow, divisions were also shown carrying out
strikes with truck-mounted missiles in
video footage released by the government. Crews fired from concealed positions
using drones to track a simulated group
of enemy ships,
The statement also stated, russia's defense minister Sergey Shaiku
says this bastion system can hit sea
targets at a distance of 350 kilometers
and land targets as far away as 450
kilometers.
Earlier this year a uk warship was
tracked by russian forces after sailing
past the crimean peninsula which boris
johnson's government claimed are
international waters as they, along with
the us do not recognize russia's control
of the don base region. These latest military exercises come in
the same week that russia along with
china belarus and six other countries
staged anti-terrorist training at the
dhangas training ground in the orenberg
region in what russia calls peace
mission 2021.
Kiev said its rapid trident 2021 drill
being conducted with u.s and nato forces
in the west of the country is due to run
until the end of this month. Alarmed by a build-up of russian troops
near its borders has held another
military drill of airborne forces close
to the capital kiev, the defense ministry
said on monday.
The drills simulated the landing of
airborne troops and armored personnel
carriers for an attack on an enemy
target. The ministry said in a statement, it released footage showing the landing
of troops supported by aircraft and
helicopters.
Last week ukrainian marines conducted
drills near the borders of russian
annexed crimea. The head of ukraine's military
intelligence told the Military Times
outlet this weekend that russia had more
than 92,000 troops amassed around
ukraine's borders and was preparing for
an attack by the end of january or
beginning of february.
Carrillo Bhutanov said such an attack
would likely involve air strikes, artillery and armored attacks followed
by airborne assaults in the east. Amphibious assaults in odessa and
mariupol in a smaller incursion through

alarmed that ukraine was being supplied
with large quantities of weapons and
building up its own forces.
Ukraine which aspires to become a nato
member received a large consignment of
u.s ammunition earlier this year and
javelin anti-tank missiles prompting
criticism from moscow which has said it
has serious security concerns about the
prospect of ukraine joining nato one day. In the next few days ukraine will also
receive two refitted former u.s coast
guard patrol boats designed to beef up
its navy.
