India's plan for a Twin Engine Deck Based Fighter (TEDBF) seems to be coming true. Because this time it was informed that if the TEDBF project was successful, it could be a great opportunity for India.
The big opportunity is if India no longer relies on the MiG-29K and will replace it with a TEDBF. However, what was informed from the defenseexp.com page is that the TEDBF will be mass produced in 2031.
Therefore, the TEDBF will later become one of the original Indian-made fighter jets that can compete with the Tejas. Because the TEDBF itself will be operational on the deck of an Indian aircraft carrier in the future.
However, a world-renowned media for defense equipment seems to have leaked confidential information from TEDBF. And it seems that the secret information is about the price list per unit of the TEDBF fighter jet.
It is known that the one who released the price information per unit of the TEDBF fighter jet was the defenseview.in news page.
It was informed that the price per unit of TEDBF is divided into 2 versions, namely a land version and an aircraft carrier version.
For the version on the carrier itself, it is explained that the TEDBF per unit is valued at USD 72.5 million.
If we exchange the rupiah at the current rate, the carrier version of the TEDBF is valued at around Rp. 1,040,074,125,000. As for the TEDBF fighter jet for the ground version, the price per unit can reach USD 66 million
If we exchange the rupiah exchange rate, the price per unit of the TEDBF fighter jet is around Rp. 946.8 million.
From these differences, it seems that this is currently still being kept secret because TEDBF has not yet entered the production stage. So the matter of other program problems on the TEDBF fighter jet is still being kept secret because it has not yet reached the release stage.
In addition, the TEDBF fighter jet will begin its maiden flight in 2026. However, with the inaugural flight of the TEDBF fighter jet, it seems that this is the first flight test.
Quoted by idrw.org, TEDBF will be branded as generation 4.5 in its class. From the 4.5 generation, the starch TEDBF will be equipped with advanced radar, avionics and weapon technology.
However, until this news was published, there has been no official information from the Indian government regarding the technology available at TEDBF. It is suspected that in the future the technology in the TEDBF will be one level above the MiG-29K.
At first glance there is information that TEDBF will use F414-GE-INS6.
Please note that the TEDBF F414-GE-INS6 is an engine made by a US company.
Meanwhile, other technologies are still being worked on and some of them have not been informed. Therefore, we are waiting for further information on the further development of TEDBF India in the future.
