In tests on wednesday the U.S Navy and
army tested hypersonic weapon component
prototypes which successfully
demonstrated advanced hypersonic
technologies, capabilities and prototype
systems in a realistic operating
environment, the Pentagon said in a
statement. But the threat has come as Mr Biden stressed america's military might
as he pledged america would step in if
china attacked the self-governed island
of taiwan.
President Joe Biden said at a town hall
event organized by CNN, China, Russia and
the rest of the world knows we're the
most powerful military in the history of
the world. Mr Biden's comments come after soaring
tensions and the region erupted on the
taiwan strait with the chinese military
flying huge numbers of planes close to
taiwanese airspace and building air
bases nearby.
The international community fears this
signals a planned attack on the island
as china seeks to exert its dominance in

security pact with Taiwan to provide it
with military hardware and technology. But it has previously chosen not to
confirm whether it would send troops to
defend the island which has a policy of
strategic ambiguity.
Before Mr Biden's latest move Zhang Jun China's u.n ambassador accused the u.s
of taking dangerous actions leading the
situation in the taiwan strait into a
dangerous direction. But Mr Biden is committed to defending
the island, regardless of these
accusations
he said on thursday at the town hall
meeting, "yes we have a commitment to do
that".

expansion and provocative acts by china
has made U.S and more and more
democratic countries highly wary. Our
government will continue to strengthen
its self-defense abilities and safeguard
taiwan's democracy in freedom, national
security and people's well-being.

china published in an article last week, the island society must be warned that
they better not believe the rock-solid
promise of the u.s because washington
will never fight to the death with the
chinese mainland for the island's
secession. All it is doing now is playing
geopolitical tricks
and they send a chilling threat, writing
that china is ready to smash the u.s
so-called rock-solid commitment with its
iron will.
Beijing said activity by u.s military
ships and surveillance planes directed
to china has increased significantly
under u.s president Joe Biden's
administration, a spokesperson for the
chinese defense ministry said thursday.
