The weapons/subsystems for the two new Corvettes have all been confirmed by multiple sources except for the addition of Mistral simbad-rc and the VL-SAM.
Sources say that it's most likely the VL-MICA, but a lot of defense enthusiasts and community members are hoping that this would change.
IMHO, It would be best for the PN to reconsider their choice of VL SAM. VL-MICA is good and would be a lot better with the introduction of the VL-MICA NG with a range of 40KM.
However, having a VLS like the MK41 and K-VLS would give the ship versatility and room for future improvements.
Vertical launching systems such as the MK41 and K-VLS (Strike/Tactical length) is capable of launching various munitions like VL- cruise missiles for land attack, medium to long range SAMs, as well as VL-ASROC for ASW missions. Even more munitions are being developed and would be developed for the aforementioned VLS.
This means that should a need arises in the future, it wouldn't be too hard for the PN to upgrade their fleet.
It is said that whatever vls am and ciws has been selected for the corvettes will be the same ones installed on the jrcs and on ships that will be acquired in the future that's why it's important for the PN to make a good decision now
