Russia has positioned almost 100,000 troops near the border of the second
largest country in europe. There are warnings that the risk of a russian
invasion remains high with no sign moscow will return the troops to
barracks.
Meanwhile, since the beginning of this year, 24 Su-34 fighter bombers have
been based at the russian military air base Baltimore. The military air base
is located only 180 kilometers from the ukrainian border, which allows the
russian aerospace forces to destroy enemy forces in the event of an attack
on the russian border or in the event of an attack by the armed forces of
russia on russian citizens in the Donbas.
As follows from satellite images published on january 17th as of the
beginning of this year, there are from 22 to 24 Su-34 fighter bombers at
baltimore air force base. The capabilities of these combat aircraft are more
than enough to not only repel any attacks in this direction, but also to
destroy large enemy forces.
To date, baltimore air base is fully equipped with two squadrons of Su-34
fighter bombers. this provides an opportunity to protect a large section of
the border and not only with ukraine, but also with neighboring belarus,
allowing assistance in the event of the slightest aggression from the west.
Among other things, given the capabilities of the Su-34 fighter bombers,
experts believe that the appearance of two squadrons in the western
direction could be a rather tough military response for NATO.
Besides that huge columns of russian military equipment are being
transferred to belarus. citizens of neighboring belarus report a massive
transfer of russian military equipment to the country.
The transfer of military equipment was seen in the gomel region not far from
the border with ukraine, as well as in minsk.
At the same time we are talking about heavy offensive weapons. the transfer
of military equipment is carried out both by road and by trains.
At the moment, there are a large number of photographs with Russian combat
vehicles captured on them. At the same time car numbers indicate the fact
that we are talking about equipment that arrived from the orenberg region
and the krasnodar territory the latter was recently seen being transferred
towards a military field camp near the city of clency.
This morning in minsk, a russian railway train with military equipment was
seen heading towards the pomuslish station to the southwest of minsk.
Also, another russian train with the military was seen at the stepianca
railway station. According to preliminary information the military vehicles
had russian numbers with regions 23, Krasnodar territory and 56 orenberg
region.
In addition in gomel they noticed a column of MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket
System) hurricane which was moving towards the highway to chernihev. Also
the movement of military equipment was noticed near the gomelod railway
station and in slutsk, reports the telegram channel "Motulko Help".
At the moment there are no official statements on this subject from the
russian ministry of defense, however western analysts have already stated
that the transfer of russian military equipment to Belarus is carried out in
preparation for an offensive against ukraine.
However this has not received any confirmation and is probably a provocation
and information stuffing.
According to a number of data, the equipment of the rf armed forces may be
sent to belarus in connection with the military exercises planned in
february, however these data are also not commented on by the ministry of
defense of belarus.
Rhe Russian military has launched a series of snap drills in the far east of
the country, leading to speculation that additional forces could be being
prepared to move west, closer to the border with ukraine where moscow has
been steadily messing troops and equipment as fears of a potential invasion
of that country grow.
These military maneuvers in the far east of russia come after talks between
Russian and western officials to address the worsening security situation
ended in a stalemate.
At the same time, a large-scale cyber attack targeting ukrainian government
websites has occurred.
The russian ministry of defense today released footage of the snap drills in
the eastern military district including armored vehicles and other military
equipment being loaded onto trains as part of what it described as an
inspection drill to practice deploying over long distances.
Some formations and units are being transferred to unfamiliar training
grounds at a considerable distance from their points of permanent
deployment, Russia's state-owned ria novosti news agency reported.
Particular attention will be paid to the possibilities of transport
infrastructure for the movement of military personnel and equipment.
