Almost War, 9 Spanish Eurofighter Intercept Russian Warships From Entering The Black Sea

As NATO and Western Allies fear Russia may be preparing to invade Ukraine, Spain and the Netherlands have begun air surveillance over bulgaria. It reported the Spanish and Dutch will send up to nine fighter jets to the country. Bulgaria and Ukraine both share a border with the Black Sea.

Meanwhile more than 140 ships including combat and supply ships 50 planes 1,000 pieces of military equipment and 10,000 soldiers were announced for deployment on thursday by the russian military. It reported some of those warships will be deployed to the black sea as well.

Spain and the Netherlands begin air surveillance in bulgaria as Ukraine tensions soar. Spain and the netherlands have taken up air surveillance in bulgaria amid soaring regional tensions, as NATO and Western Allies fear russia may be preparing to invade Ukraine.

"The Spanish and dutch will send up to nine fighter jets as part of an air policing mission in Bulgaria a member of nato, bulgaria borders the black sea as does ukraine. Bulgaria does not have any of its own fighter jets," defense minister Stephan Yaneff said on saturday. The Bulgarian government is set to decide on the deployment of spain's eurofighter jets on monday.

In late 2021 the spanish air force sent six of its euro fighters to the alliance Mihail Koganiceanu Air Base in Romania. this year the spanish general staff proposed to organize something similar in bulgaria.

At the same time the spanish air force will send its fighters to Lithuania in what it said to protect the airspace of the baltic countries from a possible invasion of the russian federation.

Reports from Spanish media said the deployment of fighter jets to Bulgaria came after britain informed the alliance that russia was planning to install a pro-moscow government in Kiev. Britain on saturday alleged that it had information that Moscow was looking to install a pro-russian leader in Kiev.

"We have information that indicates the russian government is looking to install a pro-russian leader in kiev as it considers whether to invade and occupy Ukraine. The former Ukrainian MP Yevgen Miraive is being considered as a potential candidate," the UKk foreign office said in a press release.

US Nnational Security Council spokeswoman Emily Horn said on saturday, "this kind of plotting is deeply concerning, the ukrainian people have the sovereign right to determine their own future and we stand with our democratically elected partners in Ukraine."

There have been repeated russian provocations on the black sea in recent years and tensions are high across the region. the buildup of russian troops along ukraine's borders has triggered fears of an invasion.

Extensive diplomatic efforts in recent weeks have failed to lead to a breakthrough. Moscow has also demanded that nato provide security guarantees that the defense alliance will not admit Ukraine or expand further east.

On friday bulgarian president rumen redeve rejected Russian demands that nato withdraw its troops from eastern member states such as bulgaria, calling them unacceptable and groundless. bredev who was re-elected in november began his second five-year term on saturday with a ceremonial military parade in central sofia.

Redev, a former NATO fighter pilot who once studied at the US air war college in alabama pledged to maintain bulgaria's place in the trans-atlantic alliance in the EU. Addressing the tensions linked to russia's confrontation with ukraine, he said that the role of the head of state isn't to exalt concerns and point out an enemy, but to help resolve crises with the mechanisms of the alliances of which we are members, such crises have no military solution, they require dialogue and diplomatic efforts to escalate, he said.

Meanwhile russia has announced the deployment of over 140 combat and supply ships over 50 aircraft, 1000 pieces of military equipment and 10,000 military servicemen. The Russian defense ministry said the Russian navy will have a series of exercises in all zones of responsibility from the end january to february.

The Russian navy will have a series of exercises in all zones of responsibility from january to february, according to the russian news agency TASS.

"In accordance with a plan for training the russian armed forces in 2022 a series of naval exercises will be held in january to february in all zones of the fleet's responsibility under the general guidance of the commander-in-chief of the russian navy," Admiral Nikolai Yevmanov the news release says, TASS reported.

The exercises will encompass seas washing russia and also world ocean areas of key importance. there will be some exercises in the mediterranean, black sea, northern seas and the sea of okotsek, in the northeastern atlantic and in the pacific, the defense ministry said according to TASS.

Six amphibious assault ships from the baltic and northern fleets left the port of baltis on january 15 to go to an area designated for an upcoming exercise, TASS reported.

A day before there were reports of six russian amphibious warfare vessels from the northern and baltic fleets passing through the english channel, according to the drive.

Some expect the vessels to eventually reach the black sea. TASS reported that the six vessels are now crossing the northern sea.

The announcement of the exercises comes after President Joe Biden made comments wednesday suggesting that a minor incursion from Russia into Ukrainian territory may result in a more measured response from the United States and Allies.
