U.S. Air Force to Acquire Assets of F-16 Fighting Falcon, F-15 Eagle and A-10 Warthogs

The u.s air force recently reportedly planned to retire their old assets to replace them with new and sophisticated equipment against the threat of china's expansionism in the west philippine sea. These aircraft were used in u.s air force operations against insurgents in the middle east in the long run it has also lost its effectiveness due to continued advancement of technology.

The retirement of these equipment is said to reduce the u.s air force's annual maintenance costs which can still be used to fund its modern aircraft such as F-35s and F-22 stealth fighter aircraft.

According to the u.s air force the aircraft they plan to retire next year will reach 218 units in different aircraft, including 47 units of Lockheed Martin F-16C D fighting falcon which is suitable for the philippine air force also including in the list of 13 units of Lockheed C-130H hercules transport aircraft, 48 units of Mcdonnell Douglas F-15C D eagle 18 units of boeing KC-135 stratotanker, 14 units mcdonnell douglas KC-10 extender refuelers, 20 units northrop grumman RQ-4 global hawk drones, 16 units Northrop Grumman A-8 joint surveillance target attack radar system and 42 units A-10 warthogs which the philippine air force has long wanted to buy.

According to max defense philippines the u.s government already has a plan to transfer other C-130H hercules to the philippine air force, as well as the surplus F-16ct if the philippine air force continues to purchase new F-16C/D-Block 70 Viper for their multi-role fighter acquisition project.

Max Defense philippines obtained confirmation that the philippine air force and the department of national defence have contacted the joint united states military assistance group on the possibility of transferring some surplus of A-10 warthog close air support attack aircraft.

The philippine air force has a plan to buy another six units of the Embryo A-29B Super Tucano, but if the us government will grant the philippines. its a10 warthog request it may no longer buy six units Embraer A-29B Super Takano to replace its old OV-10 Bronco.

max defense philippines added that the general atomics mq-9 reaper could be an alternative to the philippine air force's plan to purchase an unmanned combat aerial vehicle reserved for the horizon 3 phase of the revised afp modernization programme. for now the philippine air force is paying more attention to turkey's unmanned combat aerial vehicles on the grounds that the u.s congress may not allow the philippines to have advanced unmanned combat aerial vehicles end.
