5th a few months ago. Conrado Yap will also be used to address
surface and air threats. The ship can accommodate 118 personnel
and can carry out operations for 20 days.
Quinto added that if an agreement was
reached one of the new vessels would be
dedicated to patrol duties and the
second would undergo training with its
crew. The Pohan Class Aviation II corvettes
have the capability to support Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) missions. The corvette has two automolara 76
millimeters automatic guns and two 40
millimeters odo brada light guns. The ship is also equipped with two
triple torpedo tubes, radar and sonar. In may the philippines acquired two
augusta westland aw159 anti-submarine
helicopters to secure ASW capability.
